Our Story

The Beginning…

Our founder, David Fan, always loved Boba tea. From an early age, he had the desire to bring this delicious drink to the wider community. In fact, he first had the idea to start his own Boba tea company at the age of 10. After graduating from college, he started the first US-based Boba factory: US Boba Co.

From there, launched multiple Boba tea stores throughout California, bringing his dream to life.

What’s In A Name?

In Hawaii, Lilikoi means “passion fruit,” which is a refreshing superfood containing calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and folate, as well as vitamins C and E. This distinctive Hawaiian fruit is the namesake for our products because it is healthy, beautiful to look at, and delicious. More importantly, it is one of the most essential elements of our Boba tea products. At Lilikoi Boba, we source our passion fruit primarily from its native lands of Hawaii and Taiwan, ensuring that every cup of Lilikoi Boba tea is fresh, delicious, and close to nature.

Our modern world can be a stressful place. We at Lilikoi Boba seek to answer one simple question: Where can someone go to escape the grind of daily life? For us, the answer is easy. Hawaii. In an effort to create a sanctuary that you can escape to whenever you need some tropical healing, we have created the first Hawaii-themed Boba tea store. Our products incorporate the relaxed, idyllic lifestyle of Hawaii with the great taste of authentic, cold-brew Boba tea.
